Until now it has just been Trevor and I, and who wants to hear about what I made for supper last night or what hockey game Trev is planning on watching? But kids. Everyone wants to talk about their Kids, and with the arrival of Child #1, we figured it was time. So, here it goes. We hope you enjoy our blog as much as we will enjoy making it.Trevor and Jamie Fleminghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06295349645387119127noreply@blogger.comBlogger198125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4133869768676557923.post-82133879068105201062013-12-17T18:37:00.000-08:002013-12-17T18:37:05.528-08:00Sunday School Christmas Concert

I can never keep up, and therefore anyone who was vaguely interested in by blog stops reading it because I don't post anything. Soooo..... if your still out there, this is for you.

I realized today that Friday is the one year anniversary of our Move to Morden. Time to look back and see what has happened over those 12 months.

Brook started kindergarten and turned 5. in the last 12 months she has learned sooo much. She has started writing her name, recognizing letters and numbers, even sounding out some short words. She LOVES kindergarten and all of the little friends she has met there. She grew over 1.5 inches, and has become a very independent little girl. No longer a pre-schooler that's for sure. I can't believe how confidently she walks into the school and doesn't look back. She doesn't miss me at all. I wish I could say the same about her. She loves riding her bike and reading books. Her favorite color is pinkandpurple (one word) and she is a girl through and through.

Jack and his "spicy" hair

Jack is 2 3/4 years old and has grown over 2 inches in the last year. No more baby boy, accept for the diapers. We just can't seem to get rid of those!!! He talks so clearly for a guy his age and is never afraid to say hello to a stranger. (unless they have a beard) He has fallen madly in love with Grandpa Pauls and his tractors. He can't get enough combines, balers or tractors. He has changed from a toddler into a pre-schooler. He misses Brook when she's gone to school and every day when we pick her up at lunch time there is a grand reunion. The two of them get along very well. (most of the time) He's got a big heart, and always manages to make me feel special.

Our dog Sam turned 10 this summer and is starting to show her age. She's starting to get stiff, but she's still crazy about tennis balls, frisbees, and anything else she can chase. She has no interest in being careful with her body when it comes to chasing down a squirrel or racing after a ball. How do I explain to a dog that she's gonna regret it in the morning? I am learning to care for a senior dog, which is a lot more work than I expected. She's part of the family and we love her. I'm sure she would die for anyone of us.
It looks like the group will be going to Moore, Oklahoma for spring break to help rebuild homes that we destroyed by tornados. Although he will never be done learning, he is feeling a bit more comfortable with his position. The church has been encouraging and supportive, which makes him feel appreciated. He has been really enjoying the extra opportunities to preach, and he's getting pretty good at it. I never would have thought that it would be a passion of his, but I love seeing what God does through him.

Trevor is the main reason for a majority the upgrades done to our home in this last year. He has been working like crazy all year to make our basement a livable space, and last week we finally got to move in! We have had more guests over in the last week than we have in 2 months. That extra bit of space has made all the difference. These are some of the things that we've done this year:

- Put flowerbeds in front of the house
- We took a wall out of the kitchen (more work than you'd think)
- Removed a giant rock garden and about 20 stumps/shrubs out of the backyard
- Cut back the jungle of trees and planted a lot of grass
- 90% finished renovating the basement, (also more work than you'd think)

My year has been one of transition, and it has taken me this long to feel like I am at home in Morden. It is a nice town, but it was hard to leave Boissevain the way that we did. In a hurry, with some hurts and baggage. I've spent the year grieving some of those hurts and trying to unpack the baggage. It's getting better all the time.

Glencross church has become a safe place and I am thankful for the friends that we have made there. We had a great summer of camping. I LOVE camping. We did 3 different trips and they were all wonderful. Highlights of my year. Brook started kindergarten and it was a bit difficult for me to let go, but it has become the new normal and I am enjoying my mornings with Jack. It helps that Brook loves kindergarten so much. We are not morning people, but I am amazed at what I can accomplish in a day when I get up at 7am.

My life consists of trying to make everyone else' life run smoothly. Meals, laundry, cleaning, organizing, budgeting. That's me. I love my job. I like to make lists and have a tidy home. I like to color and play with playdough, drive trucks on the floor and braid barbie hair. I am FAR from a perfect mother, but I really enjoy the work God has given me to do. Other than the location, my job hasn't changed much this year. But we've all grown, and that's what makes us so much different than we were 12 months ago.
I know it's not officially summer, but it sure feels like it. (finally) The kids got their faces painted at the church picnic. Jack thought it was the funniest thing ever. They had a great time playing with their little friends and participating in the races. Brook won the sprint and the sack race. I'm extremely proud, and maybe a little too competitive. We play to win.

We are hoping to have our basement mud and taped this week. Hopefully I'll be able to post some pictures of a semi finished basement in the next few weeks. We ordered our flooring and ceiling tiles. It is kind of a blessing that it wasn't all in stock, because we didn't have room to store it anyway. I am so excited to have that space finished!
Yup, these are the cutest underpants I have ever seen. Normally I would keep things like this confidential, but they are so cute! Jack is not potty trained, but we are working on it. He is receptive to the idea, and that is half the battle.
During supper this evening we watched our neighbour cut her grass, and realized that in the entire time we have lived here this was the first time we've seen that. Life in manitoba is like that I guess. 7 months of winterish weather.

There has been a lot of things to do on our house, and perhaps we have taken on more than we should, but we are starting to see the fruits of our labour. We've cleaned up the shrubs in front of the house and put in some new flower beds. It has taken us a long time, but we are getting some of the stumps out of the back yard. We spent 2 summers cleaning up all the stumps out of our yard in Boissevain, and I am pretty sure that without heavy machinery we will spend 3 or 4 summers on this back yard. Argh. I hate stumps! If you need to take out some frustration, give me a call and i'll point you towards a tree you can chop down.

The basement is coming along. I am really excited to get that project done. Hopefully by september we'll be able to have a usable space. The drywall is almost done and Trev has been taking his time and doing a great job! It may not look like much yet, but it's gonna be great to have that extra living space. We have had a tiny trickle of water coming into the basement, so we'll have to deal with that before putting in flooring, but overall the basement is sound.
We took a trip to Brandon over may long weekend to visit Grandma and Grandpa Fleming. It rained. It rained a lot, and because there was nothing we could do outside, we went for a trip to Reptile Gardens. I am not a fan of creepy crawlies or slimy things. This was an entire building FULL of them. (Full body shiver) Anyway, they were all behind glass and the kids had a great time. Brook loved the iguana that came up to the glass to see her.

I learned that crocodiles can hold their breath for 1/2 hour, and can live 80-100 years. We did not buy any pets on our way out. We took a short glance at the bulletin board on a way out and there was a picture of a boa constrictor that had eaten a man, as well as the results of a few snake bites. At that point I was ready to leave.

We took a trip to Stienbach because Trev was taking a course at SBC, which gave the kids and I a chance to visit with Beth and Nora. We stayed at the Days Inn so we got lots of swimming and visiting done. Not much sleeping, but we had a good time. Trev learned a lot too, which was the whole point. There were 3 big pieces of machinery parked by the highway, so the kids and I took some pictures. Yes, they are in this picture, you just have to look hard.

We had a great impromptu family gathering at the farm about 4 weeks ago. Now that I think about it this was not the best picture to post, because it was a really fun time. The kids got really dirty playing in the mud and generally exploring the yard. Brook collided with a cousin on the trampoline and this was the result. 4 weeks later and she still has a little bit of a bruise.
We were outside doing some yard work and I heard a bird, but I couldn't place it. It raised the hairs on my neck and brought back memories of feathers in the ice cubes and being harassed about my pet choices. Sure enough I turned around and there was a budgie perched on the back gate of the red trailer. We tried to lure him closer, but he was unsure about us and eventually took off. I didn't want a budgie for a pet, but it was pretty cold out and I was concerned for his life.

As a family we took a trip to the farm for a breath of fresh air. I have to admit that living in Morden has been a bit of a challenge. I feel a bit crowded, and although I am determined to love my neighbours, I don't always want to hear and see them. I am looking forward to our tree's getting some leaves. It is always great to go to the farm and take a deep breath. Sometimes just driving up the hill on my way west out of town is refreshing. I spent some time cleaning up the horses and enjoying Mom's cooking. Trev sat on the deck and read a book. Brook and Jack jumped on the trampoline until they were exhausted. We celebrated mothers day on Sunday, but I think monday was really the day I enjoyed the most.

Today is the first day of spring. I didn't have to shovel any snow today! I am ready for bare sidewalks and light jackets. Im ready for the odd sunburn and the sun being up until 9pm. I am not even worried about sitting on the beach or putting in flowers, I would just like to be outside longer than 1/2hr at a time. I am really looking forward to working on our yard this spring. There is much to be done, but it will be fun to see what we can do with it.
Trev was gone for a youth retreat a few weeks ago, so I made a tent and Brook and I stayed up late to watch a movie and sleep in it. We made it until midnight. I was sick of being kicked, so I went back to my bed. It was a good time.
Joel, Laura and their family came for a visit on saturday. Brook and Olivia had a great time together, and Jack loved having Judah to play with because he was so enthusiastic about hockey.
Jack is now in a "big boy" bed. We took the side rail off his crib and moved Brook into his room too. So far so good. He's been staying in bed and respecting the rules. (Mommy is not much fun to hang out with in the middle of the night anyway) Now he seems to think he is a big boy. Everything is "I do it". He even tried to put on Brook's panties today, which I am hoping is a sign that he wants to start potty training, but I am likely dreaming.
The other morning the kids went fishing. The upside down coffee table was the boat, the carpet was the water, and I made fishing rods out of wooden spoons, tape, string and magnets. I spread a bunch of cutlery all over the carpet and they "caught fish" all morning. Good times. They generally play really well together.
So I just realized that I have no pictures of Trevor and I from this last month. I'll work on that for the next post. I have a few videos I'd like to post, but my Mac and blogger don't seem to agree, so hopefully I can get that figured out soon. Until then, enjoy the pictures.Trevor and Jamie Fleminghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06295349645387119127noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4133869768676557923.post-1117868672408066402013-02-13T19:41:00.001-08:002013-02-13T19:41:11.518-08:00Around Here

Christmas was a mixture of illness and fun. We really enjoyed all of our gatherings, but missed out on christmas day due to some high fevers and digestive pyrotechnics. Once again we were very blessed by all the gifts and good times with family and friends. I love christmas.

January ... was cold, and dark, and generally boring. I don't like January. Thankfully it went by quite quickly, but I have to admit that I didn't have motivation to accomplish much. We had a church leadership retreat at the beginning of the month that was really great. We got to know the members of our church so much better, and it gave us a new connection to the leaders we are working with. Trevor and Dad did a little more work on the wiring in the basement, so it is one step closer to completion. I can't wait to be able to use our basement!

February has started out quite busy. Trevor has had a lot of meetings, and has a lot of things planned for the next few weeks. It likely won't slow down until the beginning of March after his youth retreat. I have been a little more motivated to get out, have people over for dinner, and organize some play dates. It has been good for me to spend more time with people, and the kids love it. Wether it is having a lady over for coffee, or going to the rec center to play with friends, the kids love people! It is a beautiful character that they are blessed with.

Brook is really excited about valentines day tomorrow. She loves pink, making cards, and giving people hugs, therefore Valentines is right up her ally! After christmas she started eating like a horse, and now all the sudden her clothes are all to small. Her legs are covered in bruises from falling down and running into things. Sometimes I wonder if she'll be 6ft tall. We registered her for kindergarten a few weeks ago. I'm still processing that. I'm not ready for her to go. She is ecstatic about school.

Jack has started talking! Right after christmas he started and he hasn't stopped. All of the sudden he points out colors and names. I guess he knew it all but was waiting for the right time to let it all out. Yesterday he said "more apple cheerios". I almost fell off my chair. 3 words together! Of course I had to decifer his mumbled dialect, but he said it.

Trevor built the kids a snow hill in the back yard. I am trying to upload a video of it, but that is what we have spent most of our afternoons this week doing. Lots of fun sliding and digging. Finally they have something to do back there. The yard is really boring. No fence, no swings, no sandbox, no nothin. Now there is a snow hill.

So that's what has been up with us. We are "settled", unpacked, and getting into the groove here. I only have one box upstairs that is not unpacked. I just don't know where to put it, and it has sat in the living room so long that I don't even notice anymore. We are getting to know people and making friends. Trev is working hard and the youth are really starting to enjoy the youth program. He has made some really good connections with a few of the guys already and has a great group of youth leaders that are really dedicated.

Hopefully I don't wait another 3 months to post something. I got a new camera for my birthday so I should just start sharing all the crazyness around here. Jamie

There are a pile of random pictures below that you can take a gander at. We moved October 20th, so we have been here a month. It is hard to believe. So much has happened in that time. We did some painting. Trev and Derick have done some renovations in the basement, which has provided Trev with a very nice and clean office in the basement. Beth and Derick came out and stayed with us for 2 days to help with all the basement work. Electrical, framing, insulating, drywall. Lots of work. We got our first snowfall while they were here so we went outside for a roll in the snow. Nora spent the whole time sucking on her mittens. Jack stood in one spot. I think he was in shock. Brook ran around like a crazy child. Completely delighted!

Our new place is a bit smaller than our Boissevain house, so we have had to get rid of a bit of furniture, but we have CLOSETS! Yay! You don't know how much you miss your broom closet until you don't have one for 4 years! Trev has been trimming the trees in the backyard, but there is a LOT of work to do back there yet. I think we'll wait until spring to do anymore. Dad and Trev (and Jack) installed a dishwasher for me. I am so happy. I don't mind doing dishes, but I HATE the pile that sits on the counter all day waiting to be washed! I feel very spoiled. I only had to go 3 days without a dishwasher.

(well, that was my motive, but I think other family members were after candy) Brook was a princess, Jack was a tiger. We went up and down our block, and tried to meet our backdoor neighbours too. It was fun. We had 85 kids come by! We had to start turning them away because we ran out of candy. Kid # 86 was not very impressed. He had a huge pillowcase FULL of candy and when I told him I had no more candy he said "What? Owwhhaahh!" and stormed off. Ha!

There are not many people out and about in our neighbourhood because it is so cold, so it has been hard to get to know our neighbours. Hopefully come spring we will have more luck.

Play dates, activities, and friends are all still new, but we are getting into it. I have to admit I miss the comfort of visiting with friends that I know well. Brook has good days and bad, but so do the rest of us. She mentions Boissevain regularly, and all I can do is validate her feelings and help her work through them. We've been getting excited about christmas and all the fun that comes with that. We have started some family routines and activities that Brook can look forward to every week, and that seems to help. Trev's work is going well. He's slowly figuring out what he wants to do with the youth program and how thing are going to work. He's only been at it for a few weeks, so there is a lot more to be done yet.

Trevor and Jamie Fleminghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06295349645387119127noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4133869768676557923.post-14708230665264025182012-09-28T05:39:00.003-07:002012-09-28T05:39:41.838-07:00So I have to admit, the last 6 months have been difficult. Trevor finished his job at the Boissevain MB church at the end of April, and since then we have felt that we were in our own little "wandering in the wilderness" experience. Although many lessons have been learned, it has felt very dry. The frustration of not doing what we felt called to do, sapped our life, and made us question whether or not we were called in the first place. Through it all, God has been faithful. Reassuring us of our calling, and teaching us some very important lessons, that God could only have taught us in the darkest of times. As much as I wish he would have chosen to just write me a letter on the things I should work on, he knew this experience would be far more effective. So in the mids of our waiting and learning, God was working things out. Getting the next part of our journey set while we were getting ourselves prepared.

Two days after Trevor started his job at Western Archrib back in May, we got a call from Glencross Church in Morden, asking if Trevor would apply to be their youth pastor. We were quite confused as we felt that God was asking us to wait in Boissevain for a while. We were in no hurry to rush off to another job, as we were still healing from the last. We quietly pursued the Glencross job in the spring, but once school was out the process slowed to a crawl, and we waited once again.

Mid August we had a formal interview, mid september Trevor candidated, and last monday, he was offered the job. He accepted. Our candidating experience was wonderful. We had a great time getting to know the youth, parents, and other members of the church. What a warm and welcoming place.

Here is where it Gets crazy. The last week and a half have been nothing short of a miracle! On Monday evening Trevor got the job. Tuesday afternoon we put our house up for sale. By wednesday noon we had sold our house! 18 hours on the market. In Boissevain that is unheard of. Thursday we got pre-approval for a new mortgage. Friday we took a deep breath. Saturday we went house shopping in Morden, found a house we love, and made an offer. They accepted our offer that evening. Wow. I have signed a lot of paperwork this week. Monday I got a stack of boxes and I have been packing ever since.

In the last year, it has felt like we were swimming upstream. Every step forward was met with a shove backwards. It has been difficult. Thankfully it looks like we are done with the wilderness for a while. The road has been cleared before us and we can see where God is leading. I'm not saying Morden is the promised land, but it sure is nice to know where God wants us to go.

So we have had a super fun summer. So much so that I have not had any desire to blog. Family gathering #1 - The Pauls gathering was a blast! Kids everywhere. Food, and great weather. We had so much fun.

Brook spent some time at Lake william with Trevor's parents enjoying their new camper. She didn't sleep much, but who needs sleep when you can have fun with Grandma and Grandpa?
It's been a great summer! More pics and information to come once I have more time (or desire) to start blogging again:)Trevor and Jamie Fleminghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06295349645387119127noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4133869768676557923.post-1571525787407001842012-06-02T19:50:00.003-07:002012-06-02T19:54:22.760-07:00

So I didn't realize that I have not posted anything in a month. Sorry about that. I know there are a lot of you that are wondering what we are up to. We got a Mac computer and I am lost! It has taken me a month just to figure out what I'm doing.

Trev started a job at the beginning of May at Western Archrib, a beam and truss manufacturer here in Boissevain. There are aspects of the job he likes, and others he does not, but it pays the bills. The nice part is he has regular hours and has all of his weekends off. We are enjoying that we have every evening together as a family and that we have much more freedom with two days off in a row every week! I have felt a burden to pray regularly for Trev and a few other Christians that work at Western Archrib as they have a challenging work environment. If you wish to join me I pray at 9:30 am (coffee break time at W Archrib) I am really excited to see what God is going to do there.

Two days after Trev started his job at Western Archrib we had a church from Morden approach us about their vacant youth pastor position, so we are slowly pursuing that, but taking our time as we feel we need to be careful about where we head next. Personally I am quite nervous about moving with our young family, but I know that God has plans for us and he will look after us. It is sort of a nervous excitement. I am gearing myself up for the next adventure!

Other than that we have just been enjoying the beautiful May weather, soaking up all the sun we can and enjoying what God has blessed us with here. Below are some random pictures from May around here. The last few are from our trip to Elgin Reservoir today. What a beautiful day. J

We appreciate your support during our transition. Here is a little update on our situation.

Trevor's last day of work was March 31st. We took a little family trip to Grand Forks for a few nights, and spent most of our time swimming, eating, or shopping. The kids loved it and it was very relaxing for us to get away. We spent the last 5 days visiting with my parents on the farm. It has been great fun to take it easy and be away for a little while. The farm is always a comforting place to be. We took a day trip to PVBC and that was great. What a wonderful place that God has built there!

Every one asks us about our future plans. To that we say, "We are waiting". Trevor and I both have a peace about our decision to wait before making any big decisions. We feel like we have been rushing ahead of God, making plans, then asking him to bless them. We want to change that. He knows best and we are going to take the opportunity to search for his direction.

The problem is that both Trevor and I are planners. We like to organize, plan ahead, and then have a back up plan should things not pan out. (I guess camp and youth ministries have taught us that) God has asked us to wait and trust him, and it is testing me incredibly! I have had to make a conscious effort to push some thoughts out of my head and just wait. It doesn't mean we are waiting for a lightning bolt from heaven or a sign in the sky, but once it is time to move forward God will make that clear. This I am certain of!

We wanted to be intentional about our healing during this month, so we are not just taking trips and spend time away from home. Trevor and I are heading off to Abbotsford at the end of April for a retreat run by Power To Change. We are excited about the trip, but it involves leaving our Children in Manitoba for a week while we are gone. I have no doubts in their babysitter's abilities, but I have never been away from them for this long before and it makes me nervous just thinking about it.

So that is what we have been up to and what is on the horizon. If you wish to pray for us there is a short list of prayer requests below. Again thank you to all of you for your encouragment and prayers. - Jamie -

Prayer requests
- Wisdom for Trevor as he thinks about what type of job he would like to pursue and where.
- Patience for us both
- Safety for our family as we will be apart from the kids for a week
- That April can be a time of healing and renewal for our familyTrevor and Jamie Fleminghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06295349645387119127noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4133869768676557923.post-71877925175157319952012-03-29T19:25:00.002-07:002012-03-29T20:05:41.821-07:00Around our place in March

Trevor and Jamie Fleminghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06295349645387119127noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4133869768676557923.post-86209929499078999752012-03-25T23:40:00.002-07:002012-03-25T23:54:51.150-07:00I found a photocopied page from a devotional book stuck in my front door the other day. Author unknown.

My Grace is sufficient for you (2 Corinthians 12:9)

If none of God's saints were poor and tired, we wouldn't know half so well the consolations of divine grace. When we find a homeless wanderer with nowhere to stay who still trusts in the Lord; when we see a destitute person going hungry who still glories in Jesus; or when we see a bereaved widow overwhelmed in affliction who still has faith in Christ-oh! What honor it gives to the Gospel.

God's grace is illustrated and magnified in the afflictions and trials of believers. Saints bear up under every discouragement, believing that all things work together for their good. They believe that out of apparent evils a real blessing will ultimately spring-that their God will either work a deliverance for them speedily, or most assuredly support them in it. This patience of the saints proves the power of divine grace.

When everything is calm I can't tell how strong a house is built-a storm must rage and beat against it before I'll know it's strength. So it is with the Spirit's work. If it wasn't on many occasions surrounded by a storm, we wouldn't know that it was true and strong. If the winds didn't blow upon it, we wouldn't know how firm and secure it was. The masterworks of God are those saints who stand steadfast and unmovable in the midst of difficulties. Those who would glorify God must expect many trials. There are no great victories without great battles. So if your life is full of trials, rejoice, because you will all the more experience the all-sufficient grace and power of the Lord.Trevor and Jamie Fleminghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06295349645387119127noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4133869768676557923.post-54040355286888650352012-03-02T07:44:00.002-08:002012-03-02T08:08:19.975-08:00Jack and SamBrook is in Brandon visiting with Ken and Judy, so Jack and Sam had some quality time together. I am finding that the relationship between a child and a parent is much the same as the relationship between us and God. There are obvious flaws in the simile, but I believe we can learn a lot from it.

Last week Jack was toddling around the living room. I had been trying to keep him up until nap time and I could tell he was getting tired. All of the sudden he tripped on the edge of the carpet and hit the bridge of his nose on the edge of the coffee table. The sound of the collision was horrible. I rushed to him, scooped him up in my arms and did my best to comfort him as he wailed. His nose bled a little bit, but he must have cried inconsolably for at least 5 minutes. That was a very long 5 minutes. He ended up with a puffy nose and a bruise that ran down the side of his nose and under one eye. He survived.

When we are in impossible pain (for whatever reason) does God react the way I did? Rushing in, scooping us up in his arms? I believe so. There are people who suffer unimaginable pain, and all they can do is rest in Gods arms and cry for that very long 5 minutes. Much like Jack, some of us are tired even before we suffer great pain. The way that my son clung to me is how I want to cling to God in my time of need.

Obviously there are some flaws in this comparison. God foresees our pain, and disaster in the way a parent cannot. Why does God not stop the chain of events? I believe sometimes he does, but pain is a very good teacher. There are some lessons to be learned that only pain can teach us. Jack is much more careful around the edge of the carpet now. The saying “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” used to bug me. Being beat up just makes you weak right? Perhaps being beat up makes you smarter, not necessarily stronger. Maybe being beat up makes your faith stronger, and that is more important than your comfort.

Brook pushed Jack down the other day. I obviously had to deal with the perpetrator of the crime, but as the victim Jack sat on the floor crying, waiting to be comforted. He was not hurt, he just wanted to be scooped up and comforted. I refused. I told him “you are a big boy, get up, lets go” and I walked away. He wailed as if his face had met the coffee table again. How dare I leave him in his time of need! God can gauge our pain. He knows how strong we are, or if we are just a drama queen in need of an audience. I'm still working through all of this, but I think in our pain we demand that God serve us in the time and manner that we request, and when he doesn't we question his love, his motives, and his sovereignty.Trevor and Jamie Fleminghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06295349645387119127noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4133869768676557923.post-10792465182273718412012-02-27T20:05:00.001-08:002012-02-27T20:07:21.686-08:00Prayer RequestToday we found out that two grade 9 girls from our youth group were killed in a snowmobile accident. The specific details have not been released about the accident yet.

This evening Trevor is visiting with youth and doing what he can to ease some of the pain and answer questions. He has been asked to go to the school tomorrow and be available for grief counselling for the students. Please pray for wisdom for him as he has never done this before. Please pray for the families involved. One girl is from a single parent home, it was just the teen and her mother. The other girl is an exchange student from Mexico and I cannot imagine how hard it will be for them to deal with this at a distance.

Trevor was scheduled to go on a missions trip to Mexico on Wednesday, but it looks as though that will no longer be happening.
JamieTrevor and Jamie Fleminghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06295349645387119127noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4133869768676557923.post-32036039722036499822012-02-21T18:52:00.003-08:002012-02-21T19:12:37.601-08:00ChangesAs many of you already know, Trevor has given his letter of resignation to the church council. It is a long story, but after several meetings and a lot of discussions, we felt this was our best course of action. Trevor's last day of work will be March 31st. Trevor would have loved to finish the school year as youth pastor, but it was just not possible.

We are very sad to say goodbye to the Boissevain MB Church, and we wish them all the best as they search for a new youth pastor.

Please pray for the youth, that they would be able to transition well, and that volunteers can be found to connect with them and lead bible studies.

Pray for our church council moderator, as he has an enormous load to carry right now.

Please pray for us as we have absolutely no idea what we are supposed to do next.

Pray for Trev as he is heartbroken that he had to leave his job before he felt he was done. He loves the Youth very much and he can't believe the situation he has found himself in.

All we know is that God has provided for us so far and he will continue to do so.

Romans 8:35 -39

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.Trevor and Jamie Fleminghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06295349645387119127noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4133869768676557923.post-58655866779191551432012-02-06T19:39:00.001-08:002012-02-07T07:19:59.783-08:00Jack and SamI didn't get it on video, but right before this I caught Jack take the ball from Sam's mouth, put it in his own, and then give it back to her.
