So, after boycotting blogging for a long time, we finally decided that it was time. Until now it has just been Trevor and I, and who wants to hear about what I made for supper last night or what hockey game Trev is planning on watching? But kids. Everyone wants to talk about their Kids, and with the arrival of Child #1, we figured it was time. So, here it goes. We hope you enjoy our blog as much as we will enjoy making it.

As many of you already know, Trevor has given his letter of resignation to the church council. It is a long story, but after several meetings and a lot of discussions, we felt this was our best course of action. Trevor's last day of work will be March 31st. Trevor would have loved to finish the school year as youth pastor, but it was just not possible.
We are very sad to say goodbye to the Boissevain MB Church, and we wish them all the best as they search for a new youth pastor.
Please pray for the youth, that they would be able to transition well, and that volunteers can be found to connect with them and lead bible studies.
Pray for our church council moderator, as he has an enormous load to carry right now.
Please pray for us as we have absolutely no idea what we are supposed to do next.
Pray for Trev as he is heartbroken that he had to leave his job before he felt he was done. He loves the Youth very much and he can't believe the situation he has found himself in.
All we know is that God has provided for us so far and he will continue to do so.
Romans 8:35 -39
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
I gave the kids a bowl full of dish soap suds before bath time the other day. They had so much fun! The floor was soaked and so were the kids, but it was a great way to keep them busy for 1/2 hour.
Megan Pauls (megoo photography) took some fantastic family pictures during our Pauls thanksgiving gathering. I love these pictures!
So what is happening with us?
Trev has been really busy with meetings of all sorts lately. Our pastor, Wayne, left Boissevain a few weeks ago and so there are a lot of decisions to be made. Between youth, youth leader meetings, decon meetings, and council meetings he is a busy guy. Plus he doesn't want his visitation with the youth to suffer, so he's been working pretty hard. Last week I encouraged him to take a personal day to refresh so he went to camp Koinonia for the day. He said he had some good time of thinking about his priorities and direction. I guess sometimes it is a little too easy to just keep working withouth thinking about where you want to end up. Trev was also invited to join a group of men going to Mexico in March. They are going to be building a house I believe. All the details are not yet ironed out, but he is pretty excited. Ever since his MDS trip to New Orleans 2 years ago he has been really excited about helping with building projects, whether here or far away.
For Brook, being 3 years old is challenging at times. I don't think she even knows her own emotions most of the time. Since Jack has been more mobile over the last few weeks she has been a little ... stressed. She is not used to having someone climbing on her or taking her toys. I think having Jack crawling is more of an adjustment for her than when he was first born. They get along really well, and Brook is excited to see him do new things, but I can tell that it is a big adjustment for her. We went to visit Ryan and Jackie last week and she had a wonderful time playing with her cousin Kate. They got along so well. The sleepover went well, but there didn't seem to be much "sleep". I heard giggling at 10pm and when I poked my head in the door Kate was in bed with Brook. Very cute, but boy they were crabby the next day. She is starting to "make believe", which has been fun. We have had a lot of tea parties with no cups, horse rides with no horses, and phone calls with no phones. Yesterday we called Auntie Beth to wish her a happy birthday, and when Brook heard that Beth did not have a cake she was confused. How can you have a birthday with no cake? Where do the candles go? It must not be Auntie Beth's birthday if she has no cake. Lots of new adventures with Brook.
Jack has learned to crawl and stand up in the last 3 weeks.I guess he just decided it was time.He is 11 months and still has no teeth, but that doesn’t stop him from eating a few solid foods. We lowered the crib twice in 4 weeks, and the second time I just put it as low as it could go.Might as well admit that the boy is fully mobile and he will likely be trying to crawl out of his bed soon anyway. Since he has learned to pull himself up on everything he has decided he no longer needs to sleep. We have had some difficult (and long) fights at nap and bedtime, but it looks like I might be winning. He went to bed without a fuss tonight. I am amazed at the dexterity he has developed lately too.He is getting very good at feeding himself and picking up small objects. He’s learning to manuver his body around things rather than trying to bash his way through. He likes the little red light on the powerbar behind the TV.Brook does not appreciate his curiosity when she is watching cartoons. He started making “dada” sounds. He only says “mom” when he’s angry. He realizes that he can get himself from room to room to find people or things he wants. It has been an adventure the past few weeks.I’ve had to turn “the eyes on the back of my head” back on.I had forgotten how exhausting it is to watch a small child so closely, but so far so good.I have only plucked a few inedible objects from his mouth, none of which would have harmed him.(It’s just kind a gross to watch him eat fuzz off the floor).
As for me, I am done Christmas shopping.Stockings and all!All of our name picks this year were children, so a quick trip to toy r us and my shopping list was 90% done!So now what?I’ve got 4 weeks until Christmas and really nothing to do but keep the house clean, keep Jack from killing himself, and try to keep Trevor from finding his Christmas gift.I am trying to avoid doing my Christmas baking until a few days before Christmas. My theory is that I may then avoid the new years resolution to lose weight.I turn 30 in a few days.I have come to accept it and that is all I want to say about that.Trevor has something planned for my birthday and I am not permitted to know the details.I love it that way.J
I got a chance to get away for two days last week and go back to PVBC for a girls trailride. It was fantastic!!! I was so tired and sore and refreshed. We moved some cows, rode trails, found a decent river crossing, and visited until the wee hours of the morning. My heart is full. Something about the pembina valley on horseback makes me ... overflow. That's the only word I can find to describe it. We had great weather too. Thank you God for the Pembina Valley. I feel like you made it just for me.
First and foremost: Baby Eleanor Hope Reimer was born on September 10! Yay! It just so happened that Trev had the Saturday free so Brook, Mom and I took a flying trip to Winnipeg. It was worth it. It was so good to see Beth and Derick and their cute baby girl. I think it is really cool that her birthday is 9-10-11.
The next three pictures are just random.
Jack likes swings. He smiles so big! It is really cute.
Look how long Brook is getting. I think she's gonna be tall like those Flemings.
Brook, Jack and i took a trip to the farm to help Mom and Jeanette do apples. It is a sticky mess, but it was lots of fun. We did about 2 laundry baskets of apples and there were still lots to do.
Jack is loving the jolly jumper. I thought he was till too young for it when I set it up this week, but I guess I was wrong. He figured it out right away and loves it! He giggles and jumps around and talks to the garbage can (which has since been relocated). I have to remind Brook that Jack is not ready for swinging around. She wants soooo badly to be involved in his jolly jumping fun.
Can you believe how tall Brook is getting? She has really shot up in the past few months. All her pants are too short. Good thing we are getting into shorts and skirt weather. The only problem is that she is so clutzy. Her knees are all scraped up and her legs are constantly covered in bruises. Oh well, she'll grow out of it I'm sure. Im beginning to wonder if she is going to get the Fleming height?
I just like this picture. Jack was "gooooing" to Brook. It looks like they are having a special little conversation.
I hate all the rain. It seems like it rains every other day here, but my flowerbeds are loving it! My Irises are the size of ... iduno ... BIG flowers. Even though it has nothing to do with me, I am feeling like quite the gardener this year.
When we came home from our trip to Pinawa the weather was awful. The wind was apparently upwards of 70 - 80KM. One of our trees was down when we got home. Thankfully it fell parallel to the house and not towards it. After taking a good look at the others in our yard we decided to get rid of them all. We had been thinking about it ever since we moved in, but we never had the motivation to spend the money to get it done. We did two trees ourselves, but the other 3 were likely about 60 ft tall, so we hired a tree service to remove them. We are glad we paid some professionals to do it. It is not like on the farm where you can cut it down, drag it away with the tractor and burn it in the middle of the yard. They had to block off the street for a good portion of the morning to get it done. Our yard looks totally different, and now it is a little more safe.
It is May and we have not been able to get outside much because it has been so cold. We have had to be creative to keep ourselves busy. A cold boring evening and my husbands sense of humor is what created these following pictures. don't worry, it is washable marker. Yes, I know I will likely be washing mustaches off of Jack courtesy of Brook. (All permanent markers in our house have been under lock and key since these pictures were taken)
For Youth Trev was to dress up as a super hero. He went as Luigi. Does having the word "super" in your name make you a super hero? Although it has been cold, we've been out on the trampoline. Ive got lots of static haired pictures of Brook already, but she looks pretty cute here.
She told me the other day "Sorry Mom, I can't talk right now."
While in the middle of a conversation Brook interrupted me and said, "I have to go home now", turned around and walked away.
Trevor was playing with his ipod. Brook walked up to him and said "Dad, I play with your pod?"
If I ask her if she can do something for me she says "Ya, I think so".
I told her it was supper time and she said "Mom, that's a great idea".
After coming out of the bathroom the other day she asked me if I had used to potty, when I answered "yes", she cheered for me.
She asked if she could have an egg for desert yesterday. She was angry when we got her a raw egg from the fridge. (She wanted a cream egg.)
She is very confused why we call Jack a big boy, yet he is the baby.
She loves fancy dresses, Cinderella, and wedding pictures. I get asked several times a day if I am married and then she wants to see our wedding photo album again. She loves the white dress.
Trev asked her what her dolls name was the other day and she said "Butter". We still don't know where that came from, so the doll is named Butter.
There was a piece of fuzz floating in the bath water and she nearly launched herself out of the tub to get away from it. Naked kids are fast!
Grandma Irving celebrated 95 years this weekend. We all made the trip to Baldur to enjoy her company, sing happy birthday, and eat cake. Although no one really thinks of Baldur as a destination, we still had a great time. Oh, we saw a moose on the way home. (He was not at the party.)
Jack is 3 weeks old today. Yesterday I had to buy size 1 diapers already. When a baby is out of newborn size diapers does that mean they are no longer a newborn? He was weighed on Wednesday and he is at 10lb 10oz already. I guess once a baby weighs almost 11lbs they are no longer a newborn. He is happy and healthy and seldom cries. Usually he makes noise because he is hungry or .... is hungry. Sometimes he can't seem to figure out how to fall asleep and needs some help with that, but overall he is a very happy little man.
He and Brook are getting along. For the most part Brook ignores him, which is likely for the best at this point in his life. Every now and then she asks if she can hold him or shows him one of her toys. I am a little nervous about putting him on the floor because Brook tends to forget that he is down there.
I cant believe how quickly Brook has grown up in the last 3 weeks. Since Christmas she has started dressing herself, putting on her boots, jacket and other clothing generally on the right part of her body. Today she went diaperless all day today with no accidents, and she seems to be speaking like a little adult. After coloring today she brought me her master piece and said "check it out". Ya, it is all happening really quickly. I am realizing that I enjoy all of these different stages of having children and that I am super blessed. Brook has been pushing the boundaries a little this week, but nothing too serious. Trev went back to work this week after his extended christmas break. It seems like there was 4 times as much work for him to do as there was before christmas, but with the missions trip coming up in march he has a lot to do. You can pray that he has lots of energy and patients over the next few months.
As for me, I am doing well. I am feeling good and as long as I get a bit of sleep throughout the day I seem to be able to handle life. One new challenge is having a newborn in January. Brook and I don't get out as much now because Jack is not big enough to take on walks. We only have one vehicle and Trev needs it most of the day. Besides, walks were just a distraction, I don't need the van to go 3 blocks to the Co-op. Anyway, we are doing well and adjusting to life together.
