Swinging

Brook has a love for swings and swimming. It should be a fun summer. Too bad I didn't get any pictures of her at the pool party on friday at Hildebrands. We all had a great time!

Our Family is Growing

Mike and Jeanette were out this week for a visit. As a family we were all able to get together in Winkler for a quick supper, at which Mike and Jeanette announced they are expecting a baby for January! Yay, more babies! Chris and Nettie are also expecting for January. It should be a fun Christmas! Here are a few random pictures from my Visit to the farm.

Buddies

I can't believe the abuse Milo lives with. Why does he put up with this? He just keeps coming back for more. Brook loves getting a hold of his tail and he still keeps on coming back. I think sometimes he even teases her by flipping his tail in her face. He never retaliates. I have never seen him use his claws or bite her. He is a special kitty.

May Pictures

Here are a few random Pictures from the last few weeks. Brook in a box. Trev on the swinging bridge in Pinawa (we were there for a pastors retreat at the end of May) , Brook in her swiming suit at the super 8. Her first time in the pool went really well. Yup, just a few random pictures.

Baptism

The Sunday after Joey and Amber's wedding Trev had the privilege of baptizing two girls from the youth group. We headed to William Lake (south of Boissevain) for the baptism. We had beautiful weather and a really good turn out, but the water was still really cold. Trev was pretty excited about having the opportunity to baptize these two girls.

Brook is growing!

Brook is growing like a little weed. She is now 8 months old, and at her Dr appointment last week she was 19.2 lbs. She still does not have any teeth, but she has learned a few new tricks.

She has figured out how to spit out food she doesn't like (Ya, I really love that one). Everytime I say "no" in my firmest voice, while trying not to laugh. It is really cute. She has figured out how to reach for Trevor and I when we walk by. Her mobility has increased a lot in the last few weeks. I cant believe how quickly she has started picking up small items and passing things from one hand to the other. She will roll all over the living room and pick up any piece of dirt or fluff on the floor.

She has started pulling herself into a crawling position, and then doing a "lip stand" as her arms give out. She loves to stand up at the coffee table and slap it, which requires a spotter, so I spend a lot of time doing that. We had to adjust her crib because I think one of these mornings she will greet me by standing in the end of the crib. I am not sure who designed our crib, but they should have to try adjusting it. We basically had to take the whole thing apart to lower the mattress. Arrrggg.

She has a new fascination with Milo's tail, which he does not appreciate very much. I don't know why that cat keeps coming back for more. He is a sucker for punishment. For some reason the last few days Brook has been sleeping from 9pm to 9am. I have no complaints about that!!
Thanks Chris and Nettie for the Exer-saucer. She has been enjoying it a lot lately.

Weddings

We have had the privilege of being involved in two weddings this spring. Melissa Peters (now Degelder) was married the end of May, and now Joey and Amber Elias were married June 13th. Trevor and I were honored to be the MC's for the reception. No, Trevor did not tell any inappropriate jokes or stories, and I did not trip and fall or sneeze into the mic. I would say that makes us successful MC's. Actually, I thought we were pretty funny. Unfortunatly I did not get a good picture of the two of us that day, which is too bad because we looked fantastic, but I did get a decent picture of Joey and Amber. They looked even more fantastic!

It was a really fun wedding. There were a lot of camp staff there and it was fun to visit with Chris and Nettie's family between the ceremony and reception. Thanks Mom for watching Brook for us while we were being wonderful MC's.

June

My goal this morning is to update my blog. It wasn't that long ago that I made a few posts, but a lot has happened in the last few weeks. June has been a busy month. I can't believe it is almost over already. The spring is gone and it is officially summer.

This is going to be a very different summer for Trevor and I. We have spent the past 5 summers working at camp, and the other two before that we were living in Brandon as newlyweds. We have had 1 summer vacation since we have been married. In the summer of 2003 we went on a 2 week adventure. We packed our Pontiac Sunfire with all our camping gear and headed off. It was a great time. We had made no plans before we left. We just roamed around western Canada visiting friends and family and exploring random camp grounds.

This summer we are hoping to have some adventures as a family. Trev is taking most of his holidays over the summer, so we should be able to do some camping and short trips. I am a little nervous about trying to holiday with a baby, but I think we are up for the challenge. How hard can it be right?? All you do is find a vehicle big enough to fit everything you own in it, and go find a camp ground.
